Robert Dodd joined the City of Corpus Christi as the Parks and Recreation Department Director in 2022. He is dedicated to guiding and facilitating essential changes and enhancements in parks and recreation programs.
He currently oversees a $40.1 million annual operating budget. Under his leadership, over $204 million in development projects have been successfully initiated and/or completed, creating vibrant parks and facilities that enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors to live, work, and play.
Dodd has dedicated 27 years to student-athletes in Texas as an educator and coach, gaining experience in public and private education across the region and beyond.
His professional journey includes roles in Bastrop ISD, Flour Bluff ISD, Ingleside ISD, Three Rivers ISD, Corpus Christi ISD, and Incarnate Word Academy High School. Throughout his coaching career, Dodd emphasized the importance of team building, leadership development, and achieving goal-oriented results. He has effectively managed budgets and personnel.
Dodd holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and has completed coursework toward a Master of Science in Education from Abilene Christian University.
Robert Dodd is actively involved in multiple professional organizations, such as the National Recreation and Park Association, the Texas Recreation and Parks Society, the Corpus Christi Sports Commission, and the Texas High School Coaches Association.
