  • Downtown Taylor Street Roadwork Planned

    Utility and street improvements on Taylor Street will begin Monday, July 21.

    Lane closures on Taylor Street between North Lower Broadway Street and North Water Street will be in effect through October.

  • Bonner Drive Reconstruction

    The City of Corpus Christi is starting street reconstruction work on Bonner Drive from Everhart Road to Flynn Parkway.

  • Road Closure Upcoming on Poth Lane

    Roadwork will close Poth Lane between Up River Road and Interstate 37 beginning Monday, July 14.

  • Huntwick Avenue Construction Project to Begin July 14

    The City of Corpus Christi will soon start street reconstruction work on Huntwick Avenue at South Staples Street near the H-E-B plus! Work is scheduled to begin Monday, July 14. The estimated completion date is in November.

  • Everhart Road Project Updates

    Beginning Monday, July 7, the northbound lanes of Everhart Road between South Padre Island Drive (SPID) and Lamont Street will be closed for ongoing street reconstruction work.

Jeff Edmonds joined the City of Corpus Christi as the Director of the Engineering Services in 2015. Under his leadership, the Engineering Services Team has successfully delivered over $2 billion in completed construction projects.

Jeff has spent his 35-plus year career helping public entities successfully implement infrastructure projects. His prior work experience includes over a decade of service with two local governments in North Carolina as a City Engineer and Public Works Director. Prior to joining the City of Corpus Christi, Jeff was with URS Corporation (now AECOM), then the #1 ranked engineering consulting firm, for 14 years. Edmonds also has prior work experience with an ENR Top 10 general construction contractor and an international contract utility operator.

Edmonds’ educational background includes bachelor's and master’s degrees in civil engineering from North Carolina State University and an MBA from UNC Charlotte. He has been a registered professional engineer for over 30 years and is also a PMI Certified Risk Management Professional.

The mission of the Engineering Services Department is to assist City departments in support of new projects and to maintain existing infrastructure through cost-effective execution of the Capital Improvement Program and technical support. We also inspect public infrastructure in new private developments.
