City Receives Positive 2024 Annual Financial Report

At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, City Manager Peter Zanoni reported that the City of Corpus Christi received a clean audit opinion on the City’s finances as of September 30, 2024, as stated in the Fiscal Year 2024 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.

Weaver and Tidwell, L.L.P., the City’s external auditor, issued an unmodified opinion on the City’s financial reporting, which is the highest audit opinion that can be issued.

The 2024 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report can be found on the city website along with multiple financial reports at www.cctexas.com/financial-transparency.

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to City of Corpus Christi for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2023. The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. The City anticipates that it will receive the same award for the report issued for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2024.
