Intergovernmental Relations
The Intergovernmental Relations Department monitors state and federal governmental activities. The department develops programs approved by City Council. Through coordination with City departments, staff performs several intergovernmental relations functions including:

Informing City Council on developments in the Texas Legislature and the U.S. Congress.

Building and maintaining relationships between the City of Corpus Christi and elected officials.

Leading the lobbying efforts in the Texas Legislature and the United States Congress.

Coordinating with City departments to develop legislative proposals.

Promoting regional cooperation on issues impacting local governments throughout the Coastal Bend area.

Work with the City departments on matters before state and federal agencies.

Managing the City's federal and state consultants.
- Serve as liaison to local military installations and develop grant applications for military infrastructure.
