  • Pier Utility Work to Close Roadway on Lawrence Street T-Head

    Ongoing work on the Lawrence Street T-head piers will require closures of sections of the T-head beginning Monday, December 8. The section near Joe’s Crab Shack is estimated to be closed for about two months. Access to the T-Head remains open. Drivers will be able to turn around in the parking lot near the restaurant to exit the T-Head, as a section of the loop road will be closed. 

  • Poth Lane Closure for Water Line Installation

    Beginning on Monday, December 8, and continuing until January 12, Poth Lane will be closed to all traffic between Up River Road and IH-37. The closure is for the installation of a new 16-inch water line, an essential upgrade that will improve local infrastructure and enhance water service reliability.

  • Rescheduled Traffic Switch for Everhart Road at South Padre Island Drive Intersection

    Due to forecasted inclement weather, the traffic switch for water line improvements at the intersection of South Padre Island Drive (SPID) and Everhart Road has been rescheduled. It will now begin on December 7 at 7:00 p.m. Please note that this work remains highly dependent on favorable weather conditions.

  • Section of St. Denis Street to Close for Water Line Work

    Beginning Thursday, December 4, construction crews will be working on St. Denis Street in the area near Cimarron Boulevard and Yorktown Boulevard. St. Denis Street will be closed between Montreau Street and Annemasse Street. Access to residences will remain available.

  • Traffic Switch for Everhart Road at South Padre Island Drive Intersection

    The scheduled traffic switch for water line improvements at the intersection of South Padre Island Drive (SPID) and Everhart Road is set to begin on December 3 at 7:00 p.m. However, it's crucial to note that this work is highly dependent on favorable weather conditions.

Jeff Edmonds joined the City of Corpus Christi as the Director of the Engineering Services in 2015. Under his leadership, the Engineering Services Team has successfully delivered over $2 billion in completed construction projects.

Jeff has spent his 35-plus year career helping public entities successfully implement infrastructure projects. His prior work experience includes over a decade of service with two local governments in North Carolina as a City Engineer and Public Works Director. Prior to joining the City of Corpus Christi, Jeff was with URS Corporation (now AECOM), then the #1 ranked engineering consulting firm, for 14 years. Edmonds also has prior work experience with an ENR Top 10 general construction contractor and an international contract utility operator.

Edmonds’ educational background includes bachelor's and master’s degrees in civil engineering from North Carolina State University and an MBA from UNC Charlotte. He has been a registered professional engineer for over 30 years and is also a PMI Certified Risk Management Professional.
