Carroll Lane Reconstruction Begins Next Week
Expect southbound closures
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX—Beginning Monday, July 27, construction crews will start work on the full reconstruction of Carroll Lane from South Padre Island Drive to Holly Road.
This will require closure of the southbound section of the roadway. Traffic will be one-way northbound. Neighborhoods and businesses will remain accessible during construction.
This work is part of a voter-approved Bond 2022. It includes new asphalt pavement, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and ADA-compliant ramps. Signage and streetlights will be updated. Related underground utilities also will be improved.
The $5.9 million project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2027.
A detailed map showing the road closures is below.
Safety remains a top priority, and motorists traveling through this area must follow the posted detour signs to navigate the construction zone. Detours will be clearly marked to ensure minimal disruption and maintain traffic flow.
The City of Corpus Christi is committed to projects that maintain or improve streets and infrastructure for every city resident, business, and visitor.
