The City of Corpus Christi Public Libraries will adjust the summer hours at two branch locations on school campuses from Monday, June 1, through mid-August.

New Kitchen Supply Carts Enable Librarians to Expand Nutrition Education Programs
This spring, visiting the Corpus Christi Public Libraries might include the sounds of an induction stove or a blender alongside the usual librarian-led activities. For National Nutrition Month, the library system has introduced three custom kitchen supply carts, a specialized culinary station, and a hygiene cart, all funded by the Friends of Corpus Christi Public Libraries.

Temporary Closure of La Retama Central Library
The La Retama Central Library, located at 805 Comanche Street in Council District 1, will be closed from Friday, March 6, through Monday, March 9, for the installation of an emergency generator.

Emergency Refuge Centers and Daytime Warming Centers will Open this Weekend
A cold front will push into the area, dropping temperatures to near freezing Friday night. Strong north winds will create hazardous marine conditions through Saturday.
Saturday morning wind chills (feels like temperature) are expected to be slightly below 32 degrees.

City Will Open Overnight Refuge Centers and Daytime Warming Centers
The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Cold Watch for the area from Saturday evening through Monday morning with temperatures in the 20s to 30s and wind chill values in the 10s to 20s. Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.

City Opens Daytime Warming Centers and Coordinates with Area Homeless Providers in Wake of Cold Front
A strong cold front moved into the area overnight. The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures tonight in the low 40s, with wind chills expected to drop below 40 degrees by early Tuesday morning.

City of Corpus Christi Winter Holiday Closure Schedule
In observance of the holiday season, all City of Corpus Christi non-essential offices will be closed during the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. Most offices will be closed beginning Thursday, December 25, 2025, and reopen on Friday, January 2, 2026.
