In response to feedback gathered from community residents at a recent Joint Town Hall meeting, the City of Corpus Christi, in partnership with the Flour Bluff Independent School District (FBISD), is expanding operating hours at the Janet F. Harte Library. These changes will take effect on Monday, September 15.

The Corpus Christi Public Libraries are launching a new series of programs celebrating Native American culture and traditions. The series begins on Sunday, September 21, and runs through Friday, November 21, at the La Retama Central Library, 805 Comanche Street.

Libraries are for more than just books — they're for building communities, developing new skills, and connecting with others with similar interests. 

The City of Corpus Christi and Flour Bluff Independent School District (FBISD) will host a Joint Town Hall meeting to engage with residents about the recent change in operating hours at the Janet F. Harte Public Library, located at Flour Bluff High School. 

The Corpus Christi Public Libraries' free cooking classes are proving to be a recipe for success, attracting hundreds of local teens eager to master new skills in the kitchen.

The City of Corpus Christi and the Flour Bluff Independent School District (FBISD) are committed to maintaining a safe and secure campus for all students and staff.

To enhance student safety and comply with the safety and security requirements established by the Texas Education Code 61.1031, the Flour Bluff Independent School District (FBISD) and the City of Corpus Christi have mutually agreed that the City adjust the operating hours of the Janet F. Harte Library during regular school hours and the summer school session. The Harte Library is located on the Flour Bluff High School campus at 2629 Waldron Road in City Council District 4. It serves FBISD students during school hours and city library patrons as well, in the same location.  

At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council awarded a $2,027,560 construction contract to Crawford Henrichson and Crawford LLC for exterior renovations to the La Retama Central Library. 

In response to the extreme temperatures, the City of Corpus Christi is making several facilities available to the public during regular business hours to keep cool.
