Castenon Street to Close for Road Work

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX— Beginning Thursday, June 11, Castenon Street from Trojan Drive to Delgado Street will close as roadway reconstruction continues.

Access to the school, businesses and neighborhoods will remain available during construction. This section will be closed through Monday, August 3.

The work is part of a $3.57 million reconstruction that features new asphalt pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalks, driveways, signage, pavement markings, ADA ramps, and related utility improvements. Work began in January.

This is a vital thoroughfare for students, parents, and staff traveling to Moody High School. This project is funded by Bond 2018 and related utility funds.

A detailed map is below to represent the road work visually.

Safety remains a top priority, and motorists traveling through this area must follow the posted detour signs to navigate the construction zone. Detours will be clearly marked to ensure minimal disruption and maintain traffic flow.

The City of Corpus Christi is committed to projects that maintain or improve streets and infrastructure for every city resident, business, and visitor.
