City Council Approves 10-Year Lease Agreement with Harbor Playhouse

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Council approved a 10-year lease agreement with Harbor Playhouse, including two 5-year renewal options, supporting the continued operation of the longstanding community theatre.

Within the lease agreement, the City will be responsible for property and windstorm insurance, ground maintenance for existing landscaping, exterior walkways, and driveways, and capital improvements to the facility.

The lease agreement supports Harbor Playhouse’s continued presence in Corpus Christi and its longstanding role in providing accessible arts, cultural, and educational opportunities for residents of all ages.

In 2025, the Harbor Playhouse celebrated 100 years of serving the Corpus Christi community through live theatre performances and youth programming. The theatre offers a year-round schedule of classic and contemporary musicals and plays, along with educational opportunities that encourage community participation and foster an appreciation for the performing arts.
