City Manager Peter Zanoni Declares Stage 1 Water Restrictions

Corpus Christi, TX – Pursuant to Section 5 and in accordance with the City Council’s Approved Drought Contingency Plan, City Manager Peter Zanoni declared that the City of Corpus Christi is now moving into Stage 1 Water Restrictions.

The declaration moves the City from Stage 2 to Stage 1 Water Restrictions and follows the requirements established in the City’s Drought Contingency Plan.

Under Stage 1, Corpus Christi Water (CCW) residential, commercial, and large-volume customers must follow the DCP’s mandatory guidelines.

Stage 1 Regulations:

Landscape irrigation using automatic sprinkler systems or hose-end sprinklers is permitted once per week on each customer’s designated watering day, before 10:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m.
Hand watering with a handheld hose equipped with a positive shutoff nozzle, a watering can or bucket, or a drip irrigation system is permitted on any day before 10:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m.

Customers can view current information on Stage 1 Water Restrictions, the watering schedule, and additional conservation tips at stage1.corpuschristiTX.gov.

Residential customers should check their designated watering day by address, and industrial, commercial, and institutional customers should refer to the assigned day listed on the City’s watering calendar each month.

CCW asks all customers to watch for and prevent water runoff into streets, gutters, and storm drains while irrigating. Runoff not only wastes water during the drought but can also carry pollutants into the City’s waterways.
