City to Open Applications for Minor Home Repair Program
Eligible Homeowners May Receive Up to $24,999
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX—The City of Corpus Christi will accept applications for the Minor Home Repair Program (MHRP) from October 13 through October 27, 2026. Grants of up to $24,999 are available to 38 eligible homeowners to address health, safety, and habitability repairs needed to make their homes safe and livable, such as roofing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, minor structural repairs, and accessibility modifications. Applicants must have at least one identified critical repair and be 62 years of age or older, be a Veteran, be the surviving spouse of a Veteran, or have a disability (applicant or household member).

For those needing assistance completing their application, staff from the Planning & Economic Department will be available from October 13 to October 27 at La Retama Central Library, located at 805 Comanche Street. Assistance will be offered Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
All applicants must provide a valid photo ID and the most recent income documentation for all adult household members, such as pay stubs, Social Security award letters, veterans’ benefits, and retirement income statements. The application and staff assistance will be available in English and Spanish.
The number of requests is expected to exceed the available funding. All applications will be entered into a random selection process, also known as a lottery.
The MHRP is supported by funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
