Corpus Christi Municipal Clerk’s Office Honored with Statewide Excellence Award

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi is proud to announce that the Office of the City Secretary has been honored with the Texas Municipal Clerk’s Office Achievement of Excellence Award.

This prestigious recognition places Corpus Christi among an elite group of only 42 cities across the state to receive the award this year.

The Texas Municipal Clerks Association (TMCA) recognizes offices that go above and beyond in managing the complex statutory requirements and resources necessary for effective local governance.

The Achievement of Excellence Award is not a simple participation trophy; it is a rigorous certification of a city’s commitment to transparency and legal compliance. To qualify, a Municipal Clerk’s office must demonstrate excellence in at least nine of 12 stringent standards.

These standards cover the essential "gears" of city government, including

  •  Transparency: Compliance with the Open Meetings and Public Information Acts.
  •      Integrity: High standards in Elections and Records Management.
  •      Growth: Commitment to Professional Development and Innovation.

"This recognition highlights our commitment to transparent and efficient governance," said Rebecca Huerta, City Secretary. "It assures our residents that their local government is operating at the highest professional level."
