Council Re-appoints Municipal Court Judge for Another Term

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Council approved the re-appointment of Jacqueline Del Llano Chapa as Presiding Judge for a two-year term beginning August 1. The Council also approved appointing Carlos Omar Reyna as part-time judge for an unexpired term of June 24, 2025, through June 24, 2027

Judge Chapa has worked for the City of Corpus Christi since 2015. Chapa was appointed as presiding judge in April 2022.

“It has been a pleasure to serve the community to ensure that the court is accessible to everyone in our community while always continuing to administer fair, impartial, and efficient justice”, Judge Chapa said.

Municipal Court judges are appointed by the City Council, based on the Municipal Court Committee's recommendation. The committee consists of four City Council members.
