Mary Rhodes Pipeline Repair Advances to Startup Operations

Corpus Christi, TX – Today, September 25, startup operations continue for the Mary Rhodes Pipeline (MRP).

Filling of the water pipeline continued overnight. The welds connecting the new section of pipe have been inspected, and no issues were identified.

This morning, contractors will complete the exterior cement work to protect the repaired pipe joints on the pipeline and complete the backfill process at the excavation site.

Throughout the day, CCW and the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority (LNRA) will gradually increase pumping through the MRP. As the flow increases, the pipeline will be closely monitored.

Startup operations are expected to continue through most of the day. Barring any issues, the MRP is expected to reach Schedule 4 pumping operations, the maximum flow, by the end of the day.

CCW and its partners will continue monitoring the pipeline throughout the startup process. Additional updates will be provided as the MRP returns to normal operations.
