The City of Corpus Christi’s Office of Economic Development is conducting a survey to explore ways to enhance North Padre Island's future through exciting new business incentives and development programs. The survey is now open and will conclude on Tuesday, February 4.

 At yesterday’s regularly scheduled meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved a Chapter 380 Economic Development Agreement with 2AVH Calallen LP to bring a retail project to the Calallen area.

At yesterday’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council designated a Project Financing Zone (PFZ) around the American Bank Center Complex. 

 The Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) #3 board approved a $5 million reimbursement agreement to support the redevelopment of the historic Emerald Beach Hotel into a dual-branded property featuring a Holiday Inn Express and Hotel Indigo.

 During their regularly scheduled meeting today, the Corpus Christi City Council authorized $137,260 in Type A funding to support key improvements to Whataburger Field.

At today's regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved a resolution to accept the petition for the Mirabella Public Improvement District (PID) No. 2 to fund capital costs for an amenity-based master-planned community with enhanced public infrastructure.

At today’s regularly scheduled meetings of the Corpus Christi Business and Job Development Corporation-Type A and Corpus Christi B Corporation-Type B Boards, new officers were elected for terms beginning October 1, 2024, and ending September 30, 2025.

Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City of Corpus Christi are excited to announce that the city has been selected as an expansion city for the nationally renowned retailer Bass Pro Shops.

At Tuesday’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved eight Small Business Assistance Agreements totaling $1,076,700 to support the growth and development of small businesses throughout the City.

At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved the issuance of $20.7 million in special assessment revenue bonds for public infrastructure improvements in the Whitecap Public Improvement District (PID) No. 1 on North Padre Island.
