Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District to Host Drive-Thru Mosquito Awareness Events

Free Prevention Kits and Resources Available Nightly, June 22–26

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District will host five consecutive drive-thru community events from Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26, to observe Mosquito Awareness Week. Each event will run from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at a different location across the city, providing residents with free tools to protect their homes and families this summer.

During these drive-thru events, city staff will distribute free mosquito-prevention kits containing mosquito dunks, insect repellent, and educational guides on family health, safety, and emergency preparedness. Supplies are limited to one kit per household and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

“We want residents to be aware that even a small bottle cap of water in the backyard can become a breeding ground for mosquitoes,” said Dr. Anita Kurian. “That’s why we encourage families to stop by, pick up free supplies, and learn how simple adjustments can help them safeguard their homes all summer long.”
