Police Investigating Incident at Yorktown Boulevard and Oso Parkway

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The Corpus Christi Police Department is actively investigating a pair of early morning incidents involving a disruptive driver who later returned to fire gunshots near an active road construction site at Yorktown Boulevard and Oso Parkway. No injuries were reported.

At approximately 2:40 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, officers responded to a call regarding a suspected intoxicated driver who drove through clear signage and safety barriers into a marked construction zone, creating a hazard for workers present. The suspect fled the scene on foot before officers arrived.

At 4:01 a.m., officers were dispatched back to the same location after receiving reports of gunfire. Witnesses reported that the original suspect returned with several other individuals and fired shots into the air before fleeing the area before police arrival.

Detectives currently have descriptions of both the suspect and the vehicle involved.
