Yorktown Boulevard Reconstruction Moves Into Next Phase
Construction on the voter-approved Bond 2020 Yorktown Boulevard Reconstruction Project is moving into its next phase, with new traffic changes beginning Saturday, September 19, along Yorktown Boulevard near Rancho Vista Boulevard and Fred’s Folly Drive.
As work progresses, Rancho Vista Boulevard will temporarily close at the Yorktown Boulevard intersection, while Fred’s Folly Drive will reopen to traffic at Yorktown Boulevard. The changes will allow construction to advance along the corridor while maintaining access to surrounding neighborhoods and businesses.
Key Traffic Changes & Closures
- Rancho Vista Boulevard will be closed at Yorktown Boulevard starting Saturday, September 19.
- Fred’s Folly Drive reopens to traffic on Saturday, September 19.
- Yorktown eastbound lanes remain closed from Rodd Field Road to the Oso Creek Mud Bridge. Two-way travel is currently active on the remaining westbound lanes.
- Access to all local neighborhoods and businesses will remain open throughout construction.
Upcoming Intermittent Intersection Closures
Motorists should plan alternate routes and expect brief delays during the following scheduled closures:
- Ranch View Drive & Lasso Drive: Closed from Monday, September 21, to Saturday, September 26.
- Krypton Drive & Loyd Neal Drive: Closed from Monday, September 28, to Saturday, October 3.
This project aims to modernize the roadway and infrastructure along Yorktown Boulevard and remains on track for completion in 2027.
