$15.8 Million Alameda Street Reconstruction Project Begins Wednesday, November 4

Bringing Progress to Your Neighborhood

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The City of Corpus Christi continues investing in safer, more reliable streets and stronger neighborhood infrastructure with the upcoming reconstruction of Alameda Street between Airline Road and Everhart Road. Beginning Wednesday, November 4, this $15.8 million Bond 2022 project brings significant roadway and utility improvements designed to enhance safety, accessibility, and connectivity for residents, businesses, and motorists.

Phase 1 Traffic Impact:

· Westbound lanes of Alameda Street will be closed between Airline Road and Eldon Drive.

· Two-way traffic will be shifted into the eastbound lanes throughout Phase 1.

· The Phase 1 traffic control route is scheduled to remain in place through May 2027, after which construction will shift to the opposite side of the roadway.

All local businesses and schools within the corridor have been notified and will remain fully accessible during construction.

This multi-phase infrastructure project will span approximately two years and will eventually expand to include work on adjacent segments along Avalon Street and Robert Drive.

Scope of Improvements:

· Installation of new durable concrete pavement, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, ADA-compliant curb ramps, upgraded streetlights, pavement markings, and modern traffic signals to improve overall safety and flow.

· Subsurface upgrades to municipal stormwater, water, and wastewater infrastructure to ensure long-term utility reliability.
