Aira App Provides Enhanced Navigation for Visually Impaired Travelers at Corpus Christi International Airport

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) is excited to announce that the Aira app, a service that connects travelers who are blind or have low vision with trained visual interpreters, is now available to use anywhere on airport property at no cost. This initiative offers real-time assistance and enhances independence for these travelers.

"We are thrilled to offer our passengers the Aira app for free," said Jeremy Valgardson, Interim Airport Director. "This service is a significant step forward in our commitment to making CCIA accessible for everyone."

This complimentary service empowers travelers with visual impairments to navigate the airport more easily. Using the Aira app, travelers can connect with a live agent who can provide instant visual descriptions and guidance. This assistance can be invaluable for finding check-in counters, navigating security checkpoints, locating gates, identifying restrooms, food and beverage options and accessing ground transportation.

This initiative builds on CCIA's commitment to inclusivity, following the recent introduction of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program. To learn more about both programs and accessibility at the airport, please visit corpuschristiairport.com/en/travelers/accessibility.
