Barricades Installed at Howard Street for Harbor Bridge Parks Improvement Project

Corpus Christi, TX – As part of the ongoing Harbor Bridge Parks Improvement Project, barricades have been installed at the end of Howard Street, located in District 1. For the safety and efficiency of the construction process, the barricades will remain in place for approximately five months.

Traffic flow will not be affected by the installation of these barricades. All neighborhoods and businesses in the vicinity will remain accessible and open for regular operations.

During construction, the Ben Garza Gym at 1815 Howard Street and its adjacent parking lot will be temporarily closed to the public. However, the Corpus Christi Gymnasium, located at 3202 Cabaniss Parkway, will remain open, offering a full schedule of programming and activities for residents to enjoy. Improvements at Ben Garza Park will include a welcoming park entry plaza, a new playground, and additional picnic areas, creating a vibrant space for relaxation and recreation.

The project's funding comes from Parks Bond 2014, Metropolitan Planning Organizations reimbursement, and a prior certificate of obligations.
