Beach Volleyball Tournament Returns Downtown at The Water’s Edge

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – On Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4, the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Islanders’ Women’s NCAA Division I Beach Volleyball Team will host the 2026 Islander Classic, presented by Fulton Coastcon General Contractors, at The Water’s Edge, located at 402 S. Shoreline Boulevard. 

The Beach Volleyball event will feature five universities, including Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, Tarleton State University, Pepperdine University, California State University-Bakersfield, and the University of Louisiana at Monroe. These teams will all play in a round-robin tournament over two days.

The two-day event is free and open to the public, with seating available along the seawall overlooking the scenic bayfront. Additionally, there will also be a DJ and a selection of food trucks available.

Friday, April 3

9:00 a.m.       Tarlton State vs. University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM)
10:00 a.m.     Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi vs. California State University–Bakersfield (CSU Bakersfield)
12:00 p.m.     ULM vs. Pepperdine University
1:00 p.m.       Tarleton State vs. Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi
3:00 p.m.       Pepperdine University vs. CSU Bakersfield

Saturday, April 4

8:00 a.m.       Tarleton State University vs. Pepperdine University 
9:00 a.m.       CSU Bakersfield vs. ULM
10:00 a.m.     Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi vs. Pepperdine
12:00 p.m.     Tarleton State vs. CSU Bakersfield
1:00 p.m.       Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi vs. ULM

This will be the eighth home tournament in school history. The Islanders Beach Volleyball program began in 2016.
