Bill Witt Aquatic Center Opening Soon

The Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce the upcoming opening of the Bill Witt Aquatic Center, located at 6809 Yorktown Boulevard, on May 23. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. The facility will be open to the public from 1:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Mireles Elementary 5th Grade students will participate by being the first to use the recreational pool after the ribbon cutting ceremony concludes. Lap swimmers will also be invited to use the lap pool.

This is the first outdoor aquatic facility built in Corpus Christi in over 50 years. The Bill Witt Aquatic Center features a 10-lane lap pool and a recreational pool with zero-depth entry, slides, play units such as water basketball, spray features, pool deck seating areas, and shade structures. The $12.2 million project construction cost was funded from voter-approved Bond 2022.

CITY POOLS SCHEDULE

As part of Memorial Day weekend activities, all outdoor city pools will be open from May 24 through May 26. Schedules will vary by location. The summer season for City pools is June 2 through August 10, and hours of operation are as follows:

Monday – Friday: Lap Swim 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.; 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; Lap and Open Swim 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Saturday – Sunday: Lap and Open Swim 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Recreational Pool

Closed Monday for Maintenance

Tuesday – Sunday: 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Collier Pool, 3801 Harris Drive

Monday: Lap Swim 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Tuesday: Lap Swim 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.; Open Swim 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday – Friday: Lap Swim 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.; 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; Open Swim 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday: Lap Swim 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; Open Swim 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Monday and Tuesday: CLOSED

Wednesday – Sunday: Open Swim 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Oso Pool, 1109 Bernice Street

Monday and Tuesday: Open Swim 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday and Thursday: CLOSED

Friday – Sunday: Open Swim 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

H-E-B Pool, 1520 Shely Street

Monday and Tuesday: Open Swim 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Friday – Sunday: Open Swim 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Greenwood Pool, 4305 Greenwood Drive

CLOSED – Temporarily closed for maintenance and repair

SPLASH PADS SCHEDULE

The Splash Pads' summer season runs from June 2 through August 10. The sites are open Fridays through Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The sites will also be open on the following holidays: Memorial Day (May 26), Juneteenth (June 19), Independence Day (July 4), and Labor Day (September 1).
