City Council Approves Lease for The Texan Stores at Corpus Christi International Airport

At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the City Council approved the first reading of a forty-year lease agreement with The Texan Stores to construct and operate a convenience store and fueling station at the Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA).

The Texan Stores, a popular chain of convenience stores and gas stations across Texas, will construct its new facility on eight acres of unimproved land located along the gateway entrance to the airport property. The site will feature a modern convenience store and numerous covered fuel pumps for both gasoline and diesel.

This partnership is expected to bring substantial economic benefits to the region through the creation of new jobs and increased revenue for the airport. The Airport Board recommended approval earlier this year, recognizing the value The Texan Stores' reputation for quality and cleanliness brings to CCIA.

A second reading of the agreement will take place at the City Council meeting on November 11. The project's construction is anticipated to take approximately eight months once permits are issued.
