City Council Awards Construction Contract for Alameda Street Reconstruction

Corpus Christi, TX — At today's regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Council awarded a $15.8 million construction contract to Bay Ltd. for the complete reconstruction of Alameda Street, stretching from Airline Road to Everhart Road. This arterial road is located in District 2.

The existing roadway along this corridor will be demolished and replaced with durable, rigid concrete pavement. In addition, the project will include installing new curbs and gutters, sidewalks, and ADA-compliant curb ramps to ensure accessibility for all residents. Furthermore, the enhancements include installing new signage, pavement markings, streetlights, and upgraded traffic signal equipment to improve safety and traffic flow.

Beyond surface improvements, this comprehensive project will involve essential upgrades to the stormwater, water, and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring the sustainability and resilience of the area’s utilities.

The reconstruction effort will also extend to Avalon Street and Robert Drive, both of which are adjacent to Alameda Street. These streets will be reconstructed in the same manner, further enhancing the area's overall connectivity and infrastructure quality.

This project is part of the City of Corpus Christi’s Bond 2022 Program, which was approved by voters on November 8, 2022, and reflects the City's commitment to modernizing its infrastructure and improving residents' quality of life
