City Council Incorporates Padre/Mustang Island Mobility Plan into the Plan CC Comprehensive Plan

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Council approved the adoption of the Padre/Mustang Island Mobility Plan, formally incorporating it into the “Plan CC Comprehensive Plan.”

Developed by the City of Corpus Christi, the mobility plan builds on earlier planning initiatives for Padre and Mustang Islands and takes a forward-looking approach to transportation needs in the area. The plan reviews current travel conditions and outlines strategies to improve how people move throughout the area and connect residential neighborhoods to activity centers on the Island.

Recommendations emphasize safer, more connected options for pedestrians, bicyclists, golf cart users, and water travelers. These enhancements aim to improve accessibility while maintaining the character and livability of the island communities.

By adopting the plan, the city establishes a framework to guide future transportation decisions and investments, aligning island mobility improvements with long-term growth, safety, and sustainability goals.
