City Dedicates Helicopter Monument at Sherrill Veterans Memorial Park

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi held a dedication ceremony this morning for a new helicopter monument at Sherrill Veterans Memorial Park.

The United States Army Bell Huey Helicopter represents the service and sacrifice of the City’s veterans and strengthens Corpus Christi’s connection to its military roots.

The $715,000 project was funded from voter-approved Bond 2024.

The helicopter rests on a 15-foot-high steel pedestal in the park's southeast section. A new 8,200-square-foot path of concrete pavers surrounds the monument.

The City worked with Bell Helicopter officials on this project. Nueces County Commissioner Mike Pusley and local businessman Mike Scott were instrumental in bringing the helicopter to Corpus Christi.
