City Distributes One Million Gallons of Free Reclaimed Water

Popular Drought-Relief Program Helps Residents Maintain Lawns During Stage 3 Water Restrictions

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Corpus Christi Water (CCW) reached a conservation milestone on July 22, distributing its one millionth gallon of free reclaimed water since launching the program in February.

The program provides Type 1 reclaimed water at no cost for landscape irrigation, allowing residents to maintain their yards without violating Stage 3 Drought Restrictions. A resident who regularly utilized the water to keep his lawn healthy collected the milestone gallon at the Oso Water Reclamation Plant.

The reclaimed water program has become a widely used resource for residents seeking drought-compliant landscape irrigation options.

“Reaching one million gallons distributed in just five months is a remarkable achievement,” said Drew Molly, CWW Chief Operating Officer. “This milestone demonstrates the program’s success and our community’s commitment to innovative water conservation solutions during these drought conditions.”
