Reports of Water Quality Issues
Corpus Christi Water (CCW) has been made aware of recent water quality testing at Nueces County Water Control and Improvement District No. 3 that showed elevated arsenic levels above the maximum contaminant level.
CCW has not received any violations for arsenic and continues to meet all federal and state regulatory requirements, and the water is safe to drink.
CCW sources water from multiple locations, including Choke Canyon Reservoir, Lake Corpus Christi, the Lower Colorado River, Lake Texana, and the Nueces River. This water is blended and treated at the O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant to ensure the highest quality standards.
CCW routinely monitors arsenic levels at all water sources and treatment facilities. The most recent testing shows arsenic levels well below the maximum contaminant level of 0.01 milligrams per liter.
The safety of drinking water is the top priority. CCW continuously tests and monitors water quality to ensure the system meets and exceeds all regulatory requirements. CCW is working with area partner water providers to ensure the partners too have safe drinking water, always.
CCW is required to publish an annual Water Quality Report that follows EPA and TCEQ standards which provide extensive data regarding the water provided to our customers. This water quality report can be found online at corpuschristitx.gov under water quality reports.
