City to Conduct Water Pressure Testing on Newly Installed City Hall Skylight
After nearly three decades of wear and tear, the City Hall skylight warranted a full replacement process. To ensure the long-term safety and weather-resistance of the repaired skylight, the City of Corpus Christi will conduct a watertightness test on Monday, May 18.
This essential procedure involves applying pressurized water to the glass installation to simulate extreme weather conditions and confirm a watertight seal. To ensure accurate results, testing will continue for four workdays.
In a commitment to water conservation, contractors will utilize recycled water for this testing phase. This approach allows the project to move forward without impacting the city’s treated water supply.
By verifying the skylight's durability now, the City ensures the project meets the highest standards for public safety and infrastructure integrity.
The City is committed to completing this test as efficiently as possible. Progress updates and test results will be shared through official City communication channels.
