Corpus Christi Extends Partnership with Foresight Golf Following Record-Breaking 2025 Performance

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Council approved amending the initial term of the agreement from a 10-year to a 30-year lease with Foresight Corpus Christi Golf, LLC, securing the management of Gabe Lozano Golf Center and Oso Beach Golf Course through 2041. The agreement includes options for two additional five-year renewals and maintains a revenue-sharing model where the City receives 50% of annual net revenue.

The extension follows a landmark year for the City’s golf facilities, driven by strategic capital investments and the 2024 remodel of The Firefly Golf Course at Lozano Golf Center.

2025 Operational Highlights

  • The Firefly Golf Course (9-hole course and practice facility): In its first full year of operation, the course sold 51,092 rounds. Thanks to new LED lighting and ball-tracking technology, revenue jumped from $315,000 (2022) to $2.36 million in 2025—a 748.5% increase.
  • The Blue Heron (regulation course): Achieved a record year with 55,322 rounds sold, generating over $3.56 million in revenue.
  • Oso Beach Golf Course: Reached a historic high of 57,484 rounds sold, totaling $2.98 million in revenue.
  • Nighttime Play: The innovative LED system at The Firefly has extended playable hours by over 50%, maximizing facility utility.

“These operational successes highlight our commitment to providing exceptional experiences for all golfers, day and night,” said Robert Dodd, Parks & Recreation Department Director.
