Corpus Christi Landmark Commission Announces 2026 Preservation Awards Art Contest

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The City of Corpus Christi Landmark Commission is calling on local creators to pick up brushes, pens, and cameras for the 2026 Annual Preservation Awards Art Contest. This year’s competition invites artists to explore and celebrate the city’s unique heritage, vibrant culture, and iconic historic landmarks through original works of art.

The art contest serves as a creative bridge between the city’s past and its future, encouraging participants to document Corpus Christi’s "historical treasures" while fostering community pride.

The Commission is seeking submissions from a wide range of voices and skill levels. Artists are encouraged to submit original works that represent the city's legacy through various media, including:

  • Painting & Drawing
  • Sculpture
  • Photography
  • Mixed Media
  • Digital Art

The contest is open to three primary categories: High School Students, College Students, and Adult Artists.

The deadline for all entries is Tuesday, April 21.

In addition to celebrating the city’s history, participating artists gain significant visibility. Selected artworks may be featured in official city publications, public exhibitions, and promotional materials, providing the local creative community with excellent exposure.

Submissions must be sent via email to andrewd2@corpuschristitx.gov

Hard copies will not be accepted.
