Corpus Christi Police Officer Among 2025 Top Cop Winners
The Awards Will Be Presented During National Police Officers Memorial Week
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX—Corpus Christi Police Officer Marco Ramirez has been honored as one of the country’s top law enforcement officers. He is among ten officers nationwide selected by their peers for this prestigious recognition. The 32nd annual event in Washington, D.C., hosted by the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO), will hold an award ceremony on May 12.
Officer Ramirez is a distinguished graduate of the 81st Police Academy and has nearly three years of dedicated service with the Corpus Christi Police Department, reaching the three-year mark this June. A native of Corpus Christi, Ramirez is being recognized for his exemplary actions, particularly for the life-saving measures he rendered to Officer Kyle Hicks, who suffered a gunshot wound while responding to a domestic dispute. Hicks later died from his injuries.
“Officer Ramirez’s dedication and unwavering commitment to serving the community have set a standard of excellence,” said Corpus Christi Police Chief Mike Markle. “Receiving the Top Cop Award is a testament to his hard work and professionalism. We are incredibly proud of his achievements and their positive impact.”
