Everhart Road Project Updates

Everhart Road between Staples Street and Alameda Street will reopen to traffic on Friday, May 23.

Additional work in the area continues with a traffic shift on Everhart Road at McArdle Road.

The northbound lanes at the intersection will be closed beginning Friday, May 23. Two-way traffic will be rerouted to the southbound lanes of Everhart Road between McArdle Road and Burney Drive. Eastbound access to McArdle Road and Burney Drive will be closed at Everhart Road. Left turns onto McArdle Road from Everhart Road will remain prohibited. This will be in effect through July.

The street reconstruction project began in 2023 and is part of voter-approved Bond 2020. The total project, about $30 million, is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

A detailed map is attached to visually represent the road work and traffic flow adjustments.

Safety remains a top priority, and motorists traveling through this area must follow the posted detour signs to navigate the construction zone. Detours will be clearly marked to ensure minimal disruption and maintain traffic flow.

The City of Corpus Christi is committed to projects that maintain or improve streets and infrastructure for every city resident, business, and visitor.
