Harbor Bridge Project Announces Opening of the New Harbor Bridge US 181 Northbound Exit to Beach Avenue and the Shared-Use Path (SUP) Entrance on North Beach

CORPUS CHRISTI – Beginning this afternoon, September 3, the new Harbor Bridge US 181 northbound exit to Beach Avenue will open to commuters, providing new and improved access to the North Beach area.

Commuters should plan accordingly for the new route and access to North Beach.

Beginning this afternoon, September 3, pedestrians and cyclists can begin utilizing the SUP-north trailhead entrance, located along the E Causeway Blvd frontage road at the crosswalk between Surfboard and Gulfspray Avenue.

Upon opening the new US 181 northbound exit ramp and the SUP-north trailhead entrance, all vehicle and pedestrian access to northbound US 181 via the old Harbor Bridge will be permanently closed.

Motorists are urged to be aware of slow-rolling traffic during the transition from the old Harbor Bridge, plan for the new route, follow new signage and all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones. All work is weather permitting.
