Major Parks & Recreation Improvement Projects Completed in FY 2025

Enhancing Community Life in Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its residents through a range of major improvement projects throughout the city. From the groundbreaking Bill Witt Aquatic Center, marking the most significant expansion of the city’s aquatic program in over 50 years, to the addition of new dog parks, basketball courts, and playgrounds, the city is brimming with opportunities for leisure, recreation, and fitness.

Neighborhood parks serve as vital community hubs where residents can strengthen bonds and enjoy safe, engaging environments.

"We’ve all heard it before, and it’s so true…build it and they will come,” said Robert Dodd, Director of Parks and Recreation. "Our residents have countless opportunities to connect and make new friends through shared interests, whether it’s playing a team sport, going for a swim, joining a basketball game, or meeting at a park for outdoor activities. The possibilities are endless.”
