CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi and the Mayor’s Committee on Veteran Affairs will host a Women Veterans and Flag Day Commemoration Ceremony on Saturday, June 14, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ben Garza Gym, 1815 Howard Street. Due to ongoing construction at the park, the ceremony has been relocated from Sherrill Veterans Memorial Park. 

 

Women Veterans Day, observed on June 12, honors and celebrates the service and sacrifices of women veterans who serve in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, and Coast Guard.

 

In addition, Flag Day, observed on June 14, is a day to honor the flag, the principles of freedom, and the unity it represents as we celebrate the nation’s history. The ceremony includes a POW/MIA Missing Man Table, a parade of colors, veterans' organizations' representatives, and dignitaries' remarks
