Utility Improvements to Impact Traffic on Ocean Drive from Country Club Drive and Ennis Joslin Road
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Utility improvements along Ocean Drive, from Country Club Drive to Ennis Joslin Road, will begin this week and last approximately 30 days.
Two-way traffic along the corridor and operations at the signalized intersection at Ennis Joslin Road will remain, but commuters should expect the following changes and plan for delays.
- The eastbound lanes of Ocean Drive between Country Club Drive and Ennis Joslin Road will be closed to through traffic. Residents will have local access within the closure.
- Eastbound vehicular traffic will be shifted to the westbound lanes of Ocean Drive, beginning at Waverly Drive and continuing through the Ennis Joslin Road intersection. Right turns onto southbound Ennis Joslin are still permitted.
- The intersection at Ennis Joslin Road and Ocean Drive will be controlled with stop signs. During the project, traffic signals will be covered. All motorists will be required to stop before proceeding through the intersection.
These improvements are part of a Corpus Christi Water project to improve utility infrastructure in the area. Upon completion, the roadway will be restored to its original condition or better.
Safety remains a top priority, and motorists traveling through this area must follow the posted detour signs to navigate the construction zone. Detours will be marked to ensure minimal disruption and maintain traffic flow.
