Peoples Street Boardwalk Update
Continuing work on the Peoples Street Boardwalk will require a lane closure near the Peoples Street T-head, the landmass that goes into Corpus Christi Bay near the Marina from Shoreline Boulevard.
Beginning Thursday, May 29, a section of Peoples Street in front of Harrison’s Landing will be closed. Two-way traffic will continue on the eastbound and westbound lanes.
Businesses on the boardwalk, including Harrison’s Landing and Landry’s Seafood, will remain open during construction. However, parking will be impacted. This lane closure is expected to be completed by June 16.
The overall project to replace the wooden boardwalk with a concrete structure is expected to be completed by fall 2025.
A detailed map is attached to visually represent the road work and traffic flow adjustments.
Safety remains a top priority, and motorists traveling through this area must follow the posted detour signs to navigate the construction zone. Detours will be marked to ensure minimal disruption and maintain traffic flow.
The City of Corpus Christi is committed to projects that maintain or improve streets and infrastructure for every city resident, business, and visitor.
