Run the Runway 5K Takes Off at Corpus Christi International Airport

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) invites the community to participate in the Run the Runway 5K and 1K Kids Fun Run, presented by AEP Texas, on Saturday, September 27, at 8:00 a.m.

This exciting event will take place on the closed East runway, offering runners and walkers a unique opportunity to experience the thrill of running on a runway. Various static aircraft and emergency response vehicles will be on display. The event will also feature a variety of vendor booths and food trucks.

All proceeds from Run the Runway will benefit Wings of Texas, a local non-profit dedicated to making the Coastal Bend a more inclusive environment by providing people with disabilities opportunities for community engagement through athletic events, advocacy training, and social activities.

Registration for the 5K race is $40, and the 1K kids' fun run is $20. Online registration is open until Thursday, September 25th, 2025, at 12:00 a.m. Interested individuals can register online here.

 In-person registration will be available at the airport on Friday, September 28.
