Stay Warm This Winter: Applications for Operation Heat Help Are Now Open
Program Will Assist with Gas Cost for Qualifying Customers’ Utility Bills
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — As winter approaches, the Corpus Christi Gas Department (CCGAS) and the Utility Business Office are once again teaming up for Operation Heat Help. This program offers financial assistance to eligible customers for their natural gas utility bills.
The annual program provides financial assistance to qualifying natural gas customers by covering up to $100 per household for the gas portion of their utility bill from November 2025 through February 27, 2026.
"Operation Heat Help provides a crucial safety net for our customers," said Bill Mahaffey, Director of Gas Operations. "This program directly tackles the challenge of winter heating costs, offering financial assistance so that every qualifying resident can feel warm and secure in their home without undue financial stress."
CCGAS is accepting applications until Friday, February 27, 2026. To qualify for assistance with your natural gas bill, you must meet the following income guidelines.

To apply for assistance, the individual must be the primary account holder for the utility account in question. Applications and more detailed program information are available online at www.CorpusChristiTX.gov/OperationHeatHelp.
Applications can be emailed to OperationHeatHelp@corpuschristitx.gov, mailed to the CCGAS office at 4225 S. Port Avenue, Corpus Christi, TX 78415, or submitted in person. In-person applicants may contact the CCGAS office at 361-885-6923 to schedule an appointment.
When requesting assistance or visiting the Gas Department, please be ready to present the following documents:
· Current utility bill.
· Proof of identification for all household members.
· Proof of all household income for the past 30 days, including wages,
unemployment benefits, child support, TANF, SSI, SSDI, etc.
Please note that this financial assistance credit applies only to the natural gas part of your utility bill. Funds are limited each year, and awards are given on a first-come, first-served basis to those who qualify.
