Update: Water Line Work to Close Section of O’Day Parkway

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Beginning Tuesday, October 27, additional closures are planned for ongoing construction for the reclaimed water project. O’Day Parkway, currently down to one lane between Weber Road and Shadow Wood Drive, will be closed between Shadow Wood Drive and Parkview Drive. This closure will be in effect through Monday, November 30.

Subsequent sections will be closed as work continues in the area. Neighboring residents and businesses have been notified of this construction, and access will remain open during construction.

This closure will allow crews to safely install a 36-inch pipeline as part of the creation of a pipeline from the City’s Oso Water Reclamation Plant to its Greenwood Water Reclamation Plant. This treated reclaimed water is intended for industrial use, thereby reducing demand on potable water reserves. Industrial customers are also contributing financially to the on-site infrastructure to enable the full use of this reclaimed water.

This strategic project is a significant step towards enhancing the city's water sustainability and infrastructure.

A detailed map showing the road closures is below.

Safety remains a top priority, and motorists traveling through this area must follow the posted detour signs to navigate the construction zone. Detours will be clearly marked to ensure minimal disruption and maintain traffic flow.

The City of Corpus Christi is committed to projects that maintain or improve streets and infrastructure for every city resident, business, and visitor.
