Roadwork on Martin Road will require lane closures, beginning Monday, May 19. Travel will be one-way southbound from Holly Road to Dorado Street.

McArdle Road from Kostoryz Road to Carroll Lane is now fully open. The street project began in late 2023 and was voter-approved as part of Bond 2018. The $8 million project was a total reconstruction with new concrete pavement, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, ADA-compliant curb ramps, signage, and related underground infrastructure improvements.

Elizabeth Street between South Staples Street and Santa Fe Street is now fully open to the public. The $2.4 million project began in September 2024. This critical section of road provides access to Christus Spohn Hospital. 

On Friday, May 9, traffic on Alameda Street will switch to the southbound lanes from Louisiana Avenue to Texan Trail while the northbound lanes will be closed for roadwork. This phase of the project is expected to remain in effect through October.

Nueces Bay Boulevard will be closed between Up River Road and Leopard Street beginning Monday, May 5. This closure is part of ongoing improvements to water lines along this section and is expected to last through Monday, June 9.

At today's regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council took a significant step towards enhancing the City’s infrastructure by approving construction contracts totaling $35,000,000.

A contractor for the City will temporarily close the northeast corner of Staples Street and McArdle Road beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24.

During today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved 15 engineering firms for design work on $23 million in street projects included in Bond 2024 and the City’s capital improvement plan.
