City Council Receives Briefing on Water Reuse Partnership Opportunity
At today's regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the Council received a briefing on a potential water reuse partnership that could add 11 to 16 million gallons of water per day to the City’s current portfolio. Gulf Coast Authority (GCA) and engineering firm, Ardurra, presented a proposal to develop reclaimed water from the City’s Oso and Greenwood wastewater treatment plants. Reclaimed water is treated wastewater that has been cleansed to meet safety standards for reuse.

Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D., presented a ceremonial check for $15,092,700 to the City of Corpus Christi during a special presentation.

At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Corpus Christi Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved a professional services contract with HDR, Inc. to evaluate and recommend solutions to strengthen the electrical resiliency of the O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant (ONSWTP) located in Council District 1.

City Council Approves $100.6 Million Safety Upgrade to O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant
At today’s scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved a $100.6 million construction contract with Reytec Construction Resources, Inc. of Houston to replace the aging chlorine gas system at O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant (ONSWTP) with a safer on-site chlorine generation system.

Corpus Christi Water (CCW) reached a conservation milestone on July 22, distributing its one millionth gallon of free reclaimed water since launching the program in February.
