 The City of Corpus Christi has received the latest update on Hurricane Beryl from the National Weather Service. 

 Due to overwhelming public demand, the Corpus Christi Public Works Department has rescheduled its sandbag distribution event originally planned for July 4.

The Corpus Christi Public Works Department completed two events for residents to obtain sandbags.

The National Weather Service forecasts that above-average temperatures and an abundance of moisture across South Texas will lead to dangerous heat index values.

With hurricane season underway and the possibility of additional rainfall next week, the Corpus Christi Public Works Department will offer residents free pre-filled sandbags.
