Beginning the evening of Wednesday, October 23, repaving work will commence on Morgan Avenue from Crosstown Expressway to South Port Avenue as part of the Street Preventative Maintenance Program (SPMP).

 At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council awarded a $25.5 million contract to Zachry Construction Corporation of San Antonio, Texas for the construction of the Wesley Seale Dewatering System & Spillway Gates Rehabilitation project.

Beginning Monday, October 14, there will be lane and exit ramp closures on South Padre Island Drive (SPID) between Weber Road and Everhart Road daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for underground utility work in the area. 

Renovation of the locker rooms at the Ben Garza Park Gymnasium, located at 1815 Howard Street, is underway. 

Beginning the week of September 30, Smith Drive on the north side of Calallen Drive will be closed to all traffic due to installing an additional underground water transmission main line.
