Thousands of Runners Expected for Annual Beach to Bay Relay Marathon
The City of Corpus Christi is preparing for the 49th Annual Beach to Bay Relay Marathon on Saturday, May 16. Over 10,000 runners and hundreds of spectators will participate in the event, one of the largest relay marathons in the United States. Beach to Bay, a not-for-profit organization, draws competitors from across the globe to honor those serving in the United States military and first responders.

Beach Volleyball Tournament Returns Downtown at The Water’s Edge
On Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4, the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Islanders’ Women’s NCAA Division I Beach Volleyball Team will host the 2026 Islander Classic, presented by Fulton Coastcon General Contractors, at The Water’s Edge, located at 402 S. Shoreline Boulevard.

City Council Approves Ben Garza Gymnasium Generator Project
At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Council awarded a $205,000 construction contract to McDonald Municipal & Industrial, based in Houston, for the Ben Garza Gymnasium Generator Project. The project includes a 125-kilowatt natural gas generator, an automatic transfer switch, a concrete pad, and a secure seven-foot chain-link fence.

Corpus Christi Extends Partnership with Foresight Golf Following Record-Breaking 2025 Performance
At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Council approved amending the initial term of the agreement from a 10-year to a 30-year lease with Foresight Corpus Christi Golf, LLC, securing the management of Gabe Lozano Golf Center and Oso Beach Golf Course through 2041.
