The City of Corpus Christi is preparing for an influx of visitors to area attractions and beaches over Memorial Day weekend.

Corpus Christi Police Officer Marco Ramirez has been honored as one of the country’s top law enforcement officers. He is among ten officers nationwide selected by their peers for this prestigious recognition. The 32nd annual event in Washington, D.C., hosted by the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO), will hold an award ceremony on May 12.

The City of Corpus Christi held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction for a new police substation at West Guth Park. The substation will allow residents to connect with law enforcement and officers to remain close to the community they serve.

The City of Corpus Christi will announce the kickoff of the 2025 Warrant Roundup. Beginning Saturday, March 1, Corpus Christi Police officers will actively seek those individuals with outstanding warrants.

 At today’s regularly scheduled meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved funding to improve the Corpus Christi Police Department's (CCPD) services and equipment.

 Elizabeth Street will be closed between 6^th and 7^th Street from 8:00 a.m. to noon tomorrow, November 21, as part of the ongoing Elizabeth Street reconstruction project.

The City of Corpus Christi will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the Corpus Christi Police Training Academy. The new 34,000-square foot facility replaces the current training academy, which was built in 1981.

 The Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) continued to enhance public safety with significant improvements and expansions in Fiscal Year 2024.
