City Accepts Funding for Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements
During today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved the acceptance of $15,092,700 from the Texas General Land Office’s Community Development Block Grants for Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) program. The funding will support improvements at the Greenwood and Oso Wastewater Treatment Plants. The grant does not require a City match.

City Responding to Temporary Loss of Power at O. N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant
On Saturday, April 5, an AEP Texas transmission line that powers the O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant failed, temporarily causing a loss of water pressure in the Calallen area. The staff at the water treatment plant were able to switch to a secondary line within minutes.
